I AM GAY FOR BRITTANI

“You don’t know who I am.”

Those were the words that made me feel … all tingly, alive, and confused all at once! 

Until that moment …I had considered myself “straight."

I dated men…

I got married to a man…

I got an annulment from a man

I was even willing to remarry if I attracted the “right man”…

AND THEN I MET BRITTANI.

Smart. Beautiful. Confident. Badass.

I was in California at a business seminar, when Brittani’s brother, Matt introduced us.  Originally from Miami, she happened to be in California to promote one of her best-selling products, a secretion sweeter that she created called Sugar Cum.

We hit it off immediately as friends - well ... I thought just as friends.

(You ask her now, she admits she was plotting the whole time. She says couldn't resist the red lipstick and big curly hair. )

Throughout the four days, we shared goals, aspirations and plans to take over the world!

As a serial entrepreneur and savvy business woman, Brittani passionately shared the list of projects she was involved in and it fueled me!  Her tenacity for success was infectious.  I shared my passion for health and wellness and it was a perfect match.
She helped me with a few ideas for my business and I helped her with nutrition and fitness.

We exchanged information.
She went back to Miami.
I went back to New York.
We stayed connected after the seminar... umm to continue to motivate each other.

I admit… I was intrigued by her. I didn’t know why I wanted to talk to her all the time. I didn’t know why I was excited to receive her text messages.  All I knew was… she was smart, authentic, tough yet vulnerable... and I liked how I felt talking to her. 

Then she came to New York.

It was her birthday weekend.  I was excited to see her, and we made plans to meet up for a mini birthday celebration. I dressed up like I was going on a date.
(I swear, my soul knew I was into her before I did.)

And that is when it happened. In a loud bar in Chelsea, I was sitting in between Brittani and my friend, and I felt this connection with Brittani.  It was as if it was only her and I were in the room. I was completely present and didn’t want to be anywhere else. (best feeling ever)

After a few hours … and a few vodka martinis...

The check came, my friend and I tried to grab the check to pay... 

Like a ninja, Brittani grabs the check.  After a few minutes of going back and forth - it was her birthday for goodness sake and we wanted to treat her- she fiercely looked into my eyes and said, “You don’t know who I am.” 

Chills went up my spine.

Confession - if a man would have said that to me the way she did, I probably would have thought he was arrogant and cocky.

But her tone, her look, the vodka martinis and the way I was already feeling … was a perfect recipe for desire.  She got my attention and I wanted to know more about this young, confident, braveheart Lesbian.

We set up another get together or “date” …  for the very next day.

My life would never be the same.

Brittani's New York trip, ignited feelings I had never felt for a woman, I wasn’t brave enough to talk about just yet... but thank goodness – I was mindful enough to know that love is love and I wasn't going to ignore what I was feeling.

The months to follow were filled with fear, bravery, innocence, insecurity, exploration, risks, vulnerability, passion, sadness, joy, confusion, excitement, disappointment, breakthroughs, self-acceptance, pleasure, bravery, happily ever day by day and most importantly… unconditional love.

Today, I write this as the very proud wife of Brittani Alexis Feinberg - inventor, innovator, and beautiful human being.

And when people ask me if I am gay... I proudly declare I AM GAY FOR BRITTANI!

Look, I am no relationship expert but I am an expert at following my heart.
And hopefully our story will inspire you to do the same.
